Action Status Help
Signing In
Action Status needs a GitHub account before it can monitor workflow runs.
Open the app settings and use the GitHub connection section to sign in. On macOS and iOS, Action Status opens GitHub in your browser so you can approve access. On tvOS, follow the on-screen approval instructions on another device.
If your organization uses GitHub Enterprise, enable the custom server option before signing in and enter the API server host.
Adding Repositories
On macOS and iOS, use the add button or the New command to create a repository entry. Enter the repository owner and name, then save it. The owner is the GitHub user or organization that owns the repository.
The repository list is stored in iCloud, so repositories added on one device become available on your other devices. tvOS can monitor repositories that were added on macOS or iOS.
Choosing Workflows
Action Status discovers the workflows in each repository from GitHub. Newly discovered workflows are enabled by default.
To change what is monitored, edit the repository and use the Workflows section. Turn off any workflow that you do not want included in the repository status.
Filtering Branches
By default, Action Status reports the latest relevant workflow status returned by GitHub.
If you only care about specific branches, edit the repository and enable branch filtering. Enter the branches you want Action Status to watch.
Adding Local Repositories
If you already have repositories checked out locally, Action Status can add them for you.
On macOS and iOS, use the Add Local Repos command and choose one or more folders. Action Status scans the selected folders, including subfolders, and adds any GitHub repositories it finds.
Local folder links are stored per device. A repository can be monitored across all of your devices through iCloud, while each Mac, iPhone, or iPad can remember its own local checkout folder.
Opening Repositories and Workflows
Repository actions let you open the repository or workflow page on GitHub. If you have linked a local checkout on the current device, you can also reveal that folder locally.
Display and Refresh Settings
Use Settings to adjust the refresh rate, item size, sort order, and GitHub connection. On macOS, you can also choose whether Action Status appears in the Dock, whether it opens at startup, and how the menu bar item behaves.
Support
If you need help, use the in-app feedback form or email support@elegantchaos.com. The in-app form is preferred because it includes app, platform, and version details automatically.
